Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin that works by replacing  prostaglandins whose production is blocked by aspirin or NSAIDs.

If the pregnancy does not exceed 10 weeks LMP suction aspiration is the safest method.
First a suction tube is inserted thought the cervix into the womb. When the womb is emptied it will contract causing some cramps. The entire procedure only requires a few minutes.
